ACRYLICS ON CANVAS

I love to work in miniature but in my attempt to work larger, I have created some floral paintings that are 24 X 24 inches. I've used acrylics on and off in the past and from time to time I find myself going back to them to break the watercolor habit!

These paintings are in bright vivid colors on stretched canvas. They are ready for framing in whatever you decided on. The depth of the stretcher bar is 1/2 inch to 1 inch deep. Most are on a gallery wrapped canvas so you don't have to frame them since they are painted on all sides.

"Desert View" 12 x 12

Acrylic on a gallery wrapped canvas, painted all sides, can be hung without a frame. All the flowers are done with texture. Created Aug. 2010. This painting is similar to the "Prickly Pear Cactus-Eye Candy" so, if you like that one, you will like this.  Price: $165

Yellow Daisies & Yellow Orchids

I just finish this pair of beauties! Both are 8 x 8 inches square on gallery wrapped canvases. The Daisies have thick paint in the center of the flowers and make for an eye catching painting. On the other hand the Yellow Orchids are pretty without texture. You can buy them individually or as a pair.

"Stripes-Dahlia I and II"

Each of these paintings are done in acrylic on a twelve inch gallery wrapped canvas, painted all sides. The centers of the dahlias have heavy texture so it plays with the light. The stripes are the same color on both paintings. They can be sold separately or as a pair. Price Each is $165.00 but you can save $30 if you buy them as a Pair for $300. "I Am So GLADiolas"

I just finished this painting of gladiola flowers. The stamen is done with texture and in two shades of purple. Size: 18 x 24 x 1/2 inch. This painting took 6th Place in the "Express Yourself" art competition with the Dott Art Gallery in VA. for September 2010.  Price: $ 1650.00

I just finished this painting and I feel it captures my inner spirit. I'm a happy lady and I love to celebrate life! When I look at this I feel like it's a party in the desert. The cactus looks like balloons or like jelly beans. Bright and cheerful with it's array of colors jumping off the canvas. I hope it makes you smile! It's 30 inches square on a gallery wrapped canvas. NIGHT BLOOMING CACTUS-36 x 36 - Large!

I finally finished this painting. I turned out great. The petals of the flowers have a thick edge of paint defining them and giving them a 3-D look so they play with the light and shadows. As soon as I have this archived I will be offering it in two sizes as a Limited Edition GiClee. Original Price is $5,950.00.

NIGHT BLOOMING CACTI-9 x 12

This is a small painting on a 9 x 12 canvas board. Again all the petals of the blossoms have a heavy ridge of paint to give them a three dimensional effect. I liked this so much that I'm now painting a very large version of this painting on a 36 inch square canvas.

This bright and cheerful acrylic painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas. Many of the ribbon like petals are edged with heavier paint to create a 3-D look for the viewer. "PALM DESERT"

this was a study for the purpose of doing a very large painting in this style. The upper background is textured heavily with molding paste then I painted over it. The lower 1/3 of the painting is also textured but not as heavy. I want to paint a large painting based on this one but the size will be 48 x 36.  This is an acrylic on a gallery wrapped canvas ready to hand.

If you look closely, you'll see that the petals of the roses are raised to give the flowers a raised effect. I know this is not the best photo, but I hope I can get a better one on here soon. At least you can get an idea of what this looks like.
